Artist Statement
I am gay, raised in a Christian home, and am of Chinese/Irish descent. Though I may no longer have religious practices myself, my family continues to support me and encourages my creative self-expression.
It’s incredibly difficult being a person who is out and proud in a bible belt region, because you experience a lot of judgement from those who do not understand your art form or overall being. Though I may receive looks and a sense of disapproval from people who don’t fully get me, I try not to let it affect my way of living. Though I may have a vibrant and quirky soul, I absolutely wouldn’t change a thing. I refuse to conform based solely on other’s perceptions.

Artist Biography
Hello, my name is Will Fung. I’m a 22 year old, self-taught makeup artist. I’ve been experimenting with makeup for about 6 years now. I’ll be attending Blanche MacDonald, starting July 2020, to work towards being a professional MUA.
I’ve always felt drawn towards the drag scene, because of their ability to sculpt different features and transform into a completely new person. I also have a passionate love for vibrant colours, and get a lot of inspiration from conceptual looks. Besides drag, I’m also intrigued by horror movie makeup. I haven’t worked with prosthetics yet, but that is definitely something that I have the desire to try within the next year.
