Pecking Order - Julia Martens

During the pandemic, the world has changed in many different ways. My main inspiration during this time of uncertainty was how nature began to take over while the world essentially stopped for a period of time; as humans slowed down and stayed inside, the world fought for what it once was. The skies of China cleared of pollution, the waters of Venice had sea-life returning. In my three works, I explore the idea of nature fighting and taking over, and humans, ultimately, succumbing.
