Artist Statement:
I have always been interested in rendering the human form and portraiture. Also I have a Beta fish named Moondoggie (actually I’ve had four Moondoggies). Moondoggie has become somewhat of an alter ego as I question how he would enjoy some of the simple pleasures that I look forward to. Using a multi-media base and muted colour palette, I personify Moondoggie in India ink and acrylic. Moondoggie VII sports my unused Louvre ticket dated for use in the spring of 2020 after a European trip was lost to Covid. The painting has become a self-made souvenir of the time that should have been.

Favouring a multi-media approach, pieces often include collage, acrylic, conte, India ink and film photography. Subject matter ranges from the natural environment, the figure, portraits and quirky juxtapositions.
