Artist Statement:
The reason the Moon Fish is current for me, is that I am now leaving my “blue & gold” series (acrylic on canvas — an example most recently being included in the Graphic Guild show in the Community Room at the Reach), and entering (again in acrylic) a series of stylized fish and other marine life. The Moon Fish in needlepoint was inspiration for my first piece of this series.
Artist Bio:
Well before attending the Vancouver School of Art (now Emily Carr University), Regina spent much of her leisure time painting & drawing. And she has continued to do so since.
As a more mature student, she travelled to France to study art history, and later to Florence to earn credits in print-making (Intaglio).
Among other art forms, Regina has enjoyed experimenting with both ceramic sculpture, soft sculpture, and photography, as well as exploring colour and design in non-representational form.
