Artist Statement
I know everyone says this about where they live, but I really think BC is one of the most beautiful places anywhere! Every time I go for a walk or a drive, or look out my kitchen window I am struck by the natural beauty that surrounds us.
It is a daily source of gratitude for me and I suppose that is partly why I paint – to show my appreciation for the beauty around me. That no matter what kind of day – or year – you’re having you can go outside and think, “Hey look, isn’t it elegant the way the clouds settle in around the trees on the mountains?” Or “I love how the long dried grasses bend in the wind and are such a pretty yellow.”
The point is, is that whether you notice these things or not it is my joy to create images of these moments – big or small – and share them with you.
