Artist Statement

I have always been interested in rendering the human form and portraiture. As of late, I have looked to my art making as a source of self-entertainment and escape. I have found joy in creating quirky and absurd multi-media paintings of portraits “when the cameras are off” — removing an eyelash, wiping a mouth, picking a nose. I have been waffling between using strong saturated colour and muted monochromatic tones such as you see in these pieces. Each piece is a documentation of an entertaining night out at home.

Artist Biography

A Fraser Valley based artist, Jacqueline’s artistic style is based on process and experimentation. Favouring a multi-media approach, pieces often include collage, acrylic, conte, India ink and film photography. Subject matter ranges from the natural environment, the figure, portraits and quirky juxtapositions.
