Artist Statement:
A centuries old Douglas fir stands on the UBC bluffs near a parking lot. Spared by early loggers, it has stood the fierce westerly winds that blow across the Salish Sea for hundreds of years. On the northwest side there is a large hole which reaches into the inner depth of the tree. As I was drawing it, creatures appeared, and I let them be.
