Artist Statement:
In this piece, I explore the concept of dreams and nightmares. The line between a nightmare and a dream is fine; oftentimes a blissful reverie will morph quickly into something haunting and terrifying. In this photograph, I wanted to showcase this feeling. I used medium format film, playing with double exposures and dramatic lighting to emulate the fragmented vision of a dream.

Artist Bio:
Devon Riley is a multimedia artist based in Chilliwack, British Columbia. The materials she works with include film photography and cut and paste collage. In her work she explores themes of retrofuturism, nostalgia, and memory.
