Artist Statement

My work reflects my lived experiences, as an Indigenous Millenial Scoop, I have come to understand what it is to live in two worlds, being Indigenous but also being raised in a settler environment. I have also lived on two coasts: the Pacific and the Atlantic. I enjoy working in both digital forms and using physical elements i.e. river or ocean water within my artwork. Art for me has always been therapeutic and a way of grounding myself especially with our current political climate and living through the pandemic. It allows me to filter out what needs to be filtered out. Being able to create art is a gift and I’m grateful to be able to share that with others.
