SUMMARY:Mill Lake Music - Digital Concert Series - Corey Primus
DESCRIPTION:LIVE on Abbotsford Arts Council Facebook \n\n\n\n\nCorey Primus’ roots run deep in the “cold little northern town” where he was raised and started playing guitar and writing songs. \n“In some way\, Prince George provided the seed for everything I have ever written.” \nHis alternative/folk musing has been inspired by diverse influences from James Taylor\, the Beatles\, Elton John to Neil Young\, Bon Iver and Iron & Wine. \nFrom his early days on a compilation record for 1040 KICKS (CKXY) with his song Alien\, his journey encompassed important musical milestones including opening for Canadian Rock Legend Burton Cummings as well as international recording artist Paul Janz\, to opening the Western Canada Summer Games with his song\, The Way. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInfluenced by his folk roots\, his previous releases include\, Directions In A Foreign Tongue\, Another Day At The Factory\, This Was Who I Am and Something’s On Fire.  You can visit him on iTunes and Spotify to sample most of his music including the singles The Middle Way\, Back To You and We’re So Human. \nPrimus’ lastest release\, Lateral Possibilities\,  is a pop-oriented 4 song EP produced by These Kids Wear Crowns brainchild\, Alan Poettcker (The Runaway Club). These songs offer a more bass and drum oriented groove while retaining the lyrical sensibilities that engage the listener in his poesy. The music is always fresh and timeless. \nFind Corey online at: \nWebsite: http://www.coreyprimus.com \nFacebook: CoreyPrimusMusic \nInstagram: @corey.primus \nTwitter: @corey_primus

SUMMARY:Mill Lake Music - Digital Concert Series - Linda Szentes & Jazzlinks
DESCRIPTION:LIVE on Abbotsford Arts Council Facebook \nLinda Szentes and Jazzlinks is a jazz combo made up of friends who are also accomplished\, improvising musicians. Linda’s rhythm section includes (in varying combinations) Brenda Baird\, keyboard\, Mike Toth\, guitar\, Johan Worst\, bass\, who is well known to Abbotsford folks\, and Zoltan Kollar\, drums. \nLinda is an accomplished and versatile singer in many genres who has loved and listened to jazz throughout her life; she started studying in earnest with Bob Murphy\, the great Canadian jazz pianist\, in 2013. Linda is a musician and a singer: combined with her lyrical\, flexible voice and consistent swing feel\, she is a natural improviser. \nThis group is distinctive for two reasons: it successfully interprets a wide repertoire – vocal and instrumental jazz hits from the 20’s/30’s to the 70’s – and a diversity of styles within the jazz genre: classic jazz standards\, swing era tunes with roots in American popular song/Tin Pan Alley\, blues-inflected jazz\, latin/bossa\, bop\, and 70’s funk. Jazzlinks also has a distinctive sound which comes from working with the same personnel consistently; warm and blues-oriented with an infectious swing feel and melodic improvising. \nRecent projects include a tribute to Doris Day and Anita O’ Day called “What a Difference a Day Makes”; Jazzlinks opened up North Delta’s new Arts Centre with this tribute show in February. Jazzlinks has also been a frequent guest at the House of James and is very please to be back in Abbotsford to perform for the Abbotsford Arts Council’s Mill Lake Music series. \nFind them online at: \nhttps://lszentes26.wixsite.com/linda-szentes?fbclid=IwAR1rNQkETgBFnk6VdZwBVCJ4NqoXue2PCMv_v7A7mtOLKAx2LUK6wjrBR4s \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/LindaSzentesandJazzlinks

SUMMARY:Mill Lake Music - Digital Concert Series - J.D. Miner
DESCRIPTION:LIVE on Abbotsford Arts Council Facebook \nJ.D. Miner\, the ‘Highbrow Hillbilly’ is a local acoustic band. Darryl Klassen\, one of the founding members\, writes songs and plays a number of instruments but his favourites are an old acoustic Larrivee guitar and an even older Gibson banjo. Chad Joiner is equally a multi-instrumentalist who often brings his fiddle\, his mandoline\, a trumpet and a clarinet. Their music includes old time instrumentals\, original stories about some very weird people (non autobiographical of course) and selected covers\, mostly unknown. If it doesn’t get the toes tappin’ and the faces smiling\, it won’t be on their set list. \nhttp://www.jdminer.com \n

SUMMARY:Mill Lake Music - Digital Concert Series - Kellen Saip
DESCRIPTION:LIVE on Abbotsford Arts Council Facebook \nKellen Saip is an up and coming singer songwriter from Ladner BC\, a small farm/fishing town outside of Vancouver BC. \n His music gently fuses folk and blues with subtle undertones of faith and soul that derived from his family gospel roots. His old soul but forever young mentality helps explore a melodic guitar sound mixed with organically adapting vocals. His lyrics and vocals together deliver an intimate experience that can one minute be sweet and silky like a fine wine and the next raspy and strong that hits you harder than a cheap shot of whiskey. \nHis songs tell of a journey of heartache\, bliss\, love lost and love gained that can be relatable to all hearts that are still beating.  \nTo learn more about Kellen Saip\, check out the links below: \nwww.kellensaipmusic.bandcamp.com\nhttps://kellensaipmusic.wixsite.com/epk1 \nInstagram- @kellensaipmusic\nFacebook – www.facebook.com/thekellensaip
