J.D. Miner, the ‘Highbrow Hillbilly’ is a local acoustic band. Darryl Klassen, one of the founding members, writes songs and plays a number of instruments but his favourites are an old acoustic Larrivee guitar and an even older Gibson banjo. Chad Joiner is equally a multi-instrumentalist who often brings his fiddle, his mandoline, a trumpet and a clarinet. Their music includes old time instrumentals, original stories about some very weird people (non autobiographical of course) and selected covers, mostly unknown. If it doesn’t get the toes tappin’ and the faces smiling, it won’t be on their set list.
