Artist Statement:
High quality acrylic paint is my choice of medium to express my innermost feelings and emotions. I get lost while creating my paintings in a world of texture and layering until intuitively images emerge. Painting is the utmost joy for me – freedom from the everyday pressures and expectations allowing myself to be wild and free.
This is a journey and an exciting one! I love spending many hours in my studio “playing” with paint, pencil, charcoal, markers and an electric sander. I hope you can feel the creativity in my pieces which may bring a moment of joy into your day.
Artist Bio:
I was born and raised in southern Ontario, spent many years in Calgary and now Abbotsford.
As an artist, I am self trained, with no formal training although I continue to take on-line courses and find my way.
With a deep yearning to be creative and having put my career on hold while devoting time to my two daughters, the Covid lockdown in February 2020 provided me with time to pursue a practice in art. Having watched my mother create amazing watercolour paintings in her retirement has been a strong model to fashioning my coming days.
I really love creating abstract art! It is this artform where I can use my imagination to portray a visual expression of my deepest feelings and emotions. I find it healing and therapeutic. I love shapes and in particular circles and at times get so engrossed in my art that time flies by.
