Artist Statement:
Once decimated by logging in the 17th an 18th century and infected by rust imported from Europe, white pines are now only found sporadically in mixed species stands.  When I find a tree, my heart is filled with joy. When I find one with beautiful bark such as this one, it becomes a source of endless inspiration.
