Artist Statement
To quote Bob Dylan, “Beauty walks a razor’s edge, someday I’ll make
you mine”.This statue blurs the lines between art and reality. Her gaze is
raised, her eyes distant. She leads with her body, her shape drawing the
onlooker in, yet her feigned apathy rejects you. She knows what she is
doing. As an artist lays their soul out on the page, vulnerable and alone,
so does she, in a pursuit of something beautiful.
Artist Bio
Art has been my passion since a young age. I am thankful to have been raised in a family that recognized my desire to pursue art and supported me with lessons to help my artistic ability to bloom. I have taken private lessons in watercolour since I was very young, and have also had the opportunity to take a course on hyperrealistic drawing under a traditional art master. I have lived in Abbotsford, British Columbia my entire life, and have been involved in the artistic community as an art instructor. I am now pursuing a career in tattooing. My other passions include literature, sciences and travelling. Art has always been the most influential part of my life and I am excited to continue to pursue an artistic career and lifestyle.
