Artist Statement

Seeing shapes and connecting to those shapes as the photographs are created, Deanna began to draw continuous lines of her photographs as a way to make another connection with her subject. A photograph tells a story and using 1 continuous line to continue that story creates another expression or impression of the photograph.

Artist Biography

Deanna Flinn is a multidisciplinary artist living in the West End and has called Vancouver home for over 15 years. Deanna began taking photos at age 12, is an editorial and portrait photographer, and in 2010 started using her photos as inspiration for her continuous line drawings. Recently she has translated her work into murals and community-engaged art installations.
