Artist Statement

The second portrait piece of Jesus represents the spirituality I have been able to find within nature throughout the last year. The delicacy and beauty encapsulated in every piece of nature has made me excited to have been able to embrace it throughout the course of last sprung and summer, and intend to continue this mind opening journey this coming spring and summer. I am also a massive fan of camouflage art and longed to put my focus and creativity into integrating a face into natural themes, in hopes that onlookers may relate to the deep contemplation I’ve had with the flora and fauna around me.

Artist Biography

I’m Jenna, a studying and practicing visual artist from Abbotsford looking to spread the love modern, graphic and street styles! Within this work I sought out to convey elements of reflection on the past and promote the awareness of the beauty surrounding us in our lives. By viewing the subtle elements of camouflage in the piece I want the religious figures strong, nostalgia filled gaze to send the message that there is spirituality hidden within the natural elements of the world. I enjoy working in a variety of mediums and on various surfaces, and encourage others to creatively try new methods of expression!
