Imagination.
Passion.
Curiosity.
Stories.
Personality.
Creativity.
These elements drive my spirit and inform my images. . I strive to weave these factors into all of my work and to bring them out of my subjects. Photographs tell stories. Imagery and emotion are fundamental to the human experience.
As a photographer I aim to connect and convey the emotional impact of a scene, or a portrait, with our most innate and primal existential elements. In doing so, I strive to reveal connections that we all share.
My enduring hope is that some of my work will kindle, or rekindle and awaken, your spirit and passion, and engage you from within.
These exposures of local landmarks represent persistent ethereal passages of time and people, and our connection to nature and the physical landscape.
Artist Biography
I’ve been behind a camera locally & around the world shooting a diverse set of subjects for 35+ years. My first 35mm camera was a Pentax K1000 bought in the late 1970’s that launched my passion for photography. In those days I shot mainly portraits of friends, & their bands & the streets of Vancouver, BC. Soon after, I explored & deeply embraced the late night red light of the darkroom developing my own film & printing my own photographs. Those years of experience were the natural foundation for the transition to a digital world where the tools took their cues from the same skills. As those technologies progressed so did I & have subsequently spent more time working in digital than I did in chemicals. I have found an avid kinship at APAC &, as a member of the executive, am stretching my skills and fueling my artistic drive alongside other passionate talented photographers, recently exhibiting my work alongside them at Tanglebank Gardens/Brambles Bistro & The Mission Arts Council.
