Simultaneity Art Show (SAS) is an exhibition of artworks by, for, about and in allyship with LGBTQIA2S+ artists, especially those who experience, or their art expresses, intersectionality. In highlighting creative expression that celebrates the inclusive history and nature of Pride, we’re so excited to present these artists and we thank them for their openness in sharing their work and words. Please enjoy this artwork with compassion & love.
For many artists, projects, exhibitions, travel, artist residencies, and connections have been cancelled or limited causing a drastic drop in opportunities for 2020. The vision of SAS aims to link artists and audiences together, to spark open dialogue, curiosity, and creative citizenship & allyship. During a crucial, historical moment of revolutionary social change, we recognize the importance of carrying this momentum forward by ensuring diverse creative voices are seen and heard. Black art matters. Indigenous art matters. LGBTQ 2S+ art matters.
The Abbotsford Arts Council and SAS will not handle any sales for this exhibition. In support of artists, 100% of the sale of artwork goes to the artists. (Artists are responsible for the sale and shipping of sold artworks.) Viewers who wish to make an impactful financial contribution are encouraged to purchase art directly from the artists, and/or to make donations to the Fraser Valley Youth Society and Black Connections.
