How It Works

Arrive at 11:00am to check in and choose your canvas (multiple sizes available; come early to secure your preferred size). Using only the supplies provided, you’ll have three hours to create a finished mixed media work.

All completed works will be displayed at the Kariton Art Gallery from June 6 – 27, 2026, with an Opening Reception on June 6 from 12:00 – 2:00pm (refreshments provided).

Participating artists will have the option of selling their work during the exhibition. Works sold will earn the artist 70% of the sale price, with the remaining commission supporting the Kariton Art Gallery.

Participants will also be invited to contribute to a community artwork, which will be silent auctioned during the exhibition period to raise funds for Abbotsford Arts Council programs and initiatives.

What’s Provided

The Kariton Art Gallery will provide a canvas (multiple sizes will be available – come early to secure your preferred choice) and a cornucopia of mixed media goodies to create your masterpiece.

Artists must use the supplies provided, but are allowed/encouraged to bring their own:

  • Paintbrushes suitable for acrylic paint (we will have some basic brushes on hand, but you may prefer your own.)
  • An apron or smock

No other outside supplies will be permitted.

Registration

Registration closes Wednesday, May 20, or when 30 participants have registered, whichever comes first. Registrations received after the cap is reached will be added to a waitlist.

Please note: if you have not checked in and collected your canvas by 11:30am, your spot may be given to a waitlisted or drop-in participant.
