Artist Statement:
I create to observe the beauty in everyday objects and showcase it in a way that is accessible to the people around me. I am a teacher by trade, so I have been spending my spare moments over the last year improving and cultivating my artistic practice by enrolling in courses and experimenting with new mediums. I have been using the exterior and interior landscapes around me to create my new sense of home, since I am a relatively new resident of BC. My work depicts the scenery about my new home in Chilliwack. For me, it has been an adjustment from moving from the prairies to a landscape that is incredibly mountainous.
