The Abbotsford Genealogical Society has been a non-profit organization since 1977.The society holds its meetings at the Clearbrook Library in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. The meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of each month except August and December. We cordially invite you to consider becoming a member of the AGS and the fastest growing hobby, passion, obsession in the world today.

Meetings are held as the need arises. As most members are German-speaking, meetings are conducted in German. The Club hosts ballroom dances six times a year at the McCallum Activity Centre. It also celebrates Octoberfest, Christmas, and New Year's with a big party at the Abbotsford Annex (next to the Abby Arts Centre). Members meet to play Scot (a card game) and families get together for picnics.

Our Festival has something for the whole family to enjoy including a dance competition, demonstrations, music featuring bandura and tsymbaly as well as various displays of arts and crafts, and our cafeteria with Ukrainian cuisine.

The mission of the MSA Museum Society is to be the memory of the community by preserving and interpreting its history. Functions of this mandate are to preserve, study and exhibit artifacts and archival material, and to educate and entertain the public. The Trethewey House on Mill Lake in Abbotsford was designated as a heritage site in 1983, and is now operated by the MSA Museum Society. We encourage you to come view the house and enjoy our period gardens and spacious grounds.

The Fraser Valley Scandinavian Club was formed in 2001 in response to the large population interested in Scandinavian culture living east of Burnaby. The Fraser Valley Scandinavian Club holds its monthly dinners on the second Monday of each month at the Eagles Hall (33868 Essendene St, Abbotsford) at 6:00 pm. Dinners are potluck, normally highlighted by one of the five Scandinavian countries and supplemented by entertainment when possible. Business meetings are held at the time of the dinners when required.
