The Abbotsford Arts Council is pleased to announce our current show at the Kariton Art Gallery: “An Exhibition of Bleaf,” works in photo based abstraction by local artist George Rychter. The show features several digitally-manipulated photographs of small organic sculptures made from Fall coloured leaves, bones and resins.

For the last three years, Rychter’s work has centered on a photo based exploration of digital photographs with a focus in the intuitive use of fluid movement and rich, translucent colour. Rychter applies the translucent film of the images over light boxes or mounts them under acrylic glass to maximize the glass-like properties of the final image.

The show will be on display from May 25 to June 19, 2012, at the Kariton Art Gallery, located in Mill Lake Park at 2387 Ware Street. The Kariton's hours of operation are Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30am to 4:30pm.

For more information on George Rychter, visit his website at www.bleafportal.com.
